This summer, Wang Furniture and California Fruitwoods picked up and moved to Santa Rosa. Since we are super picky about making a commitment to a new store front or shop it has taken some major time at the discussion table (made by Andrew himself) to figure out where our new location will be. I am here to say this is still undecided.
Designer and craftsman, Andrew Somawang, spent this summer trying out a new kind of art... chainsaw carving. Inspired by the TV show "Saw Dogs", Andrew thought, "Hey! I can do that!" and it turned out he could. Andrew was a featured artist in the Visalia Arts Consortium Taste the Arts event in downtown Visalia. At the show, he demonstrated with a live carving of a tiki.
With the holidays coming around and the rain season beginning, Andrew is getting back to business with furniture and design. We hope to post some new creations soon but for now we leave you with some of the summer's carvings. Enjoy!
